SOC's Appeal to Overturn Rezoning, December 27, 2011
In December 2011, Save Our County and several other plaintiffs filed a lawsuit in the Court of Chancery of Delaware to overturn the October 2011 decision by New Castle County Council to rezone 37 acres of Barley Mill Plaza to "Commercial Regional" (CR) from "Office Regional," thereby allowing the developer, Keith Stoltz, to build a massive regional mall at the intersections of Route 141 and Lancaster Pike. The decision was made by County Council without any information about the future impact of traffic on nearby neighborhoods and local commuter routes. SOC's legal complaint in Chancery Court (Case No. 7151) can be found here. (37 pgs)
